Begin with a short drive to the largest remaining Roman Fortress North of the Alps — Portchester Castle. Take a short walk through the grounds.

This masterpiece of architecture and engineering is a very bold and very tall structure that dominates the waterfront precinct. Watch the animated film — Sail of the Solent — introducing the fascinating stories and characters and the 1700 years of history from Romans to Charles Dickens that have made Portsmouth the great waterfront city it is today.
Ascend to 330 feet above sea level to View Deck 1 of the Spinnaker Tower for 360°panoramic vistas. Glass walls allow uninterrupted panoramic views across the city, harbor, sea and coastline, from Hayling Island and Chichester in the East to the countryside of the New Forest in the West, the picturesque Isle of Wight in the South, and the rolling hills of Hampshire’s South Downs in the North. Your visit includes access to the three viewing decks, the Sky Walk glass floor, and an audio guide.
