A winding road along the fjord brings you to the village of Loen.
Board the Loen Skylift cable car for a ride up Mount Hoven to 3,316 feet above sea level -- well above the treeline in this part of Norway. Beneath you, spectacular views of the fjord and villages sprawl toward the mountainous horizon and the edge of Jostedal Glacier National Park.
Leaving the magnificent view behind, return to sea level and the ship.
Notes:
In case of strong winds, the cable car can close at short notice. Tour operates rain or shine but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof.
