Experience one of Scotland's foremost industries — whisky distilling.
Aberdeenshire is home to several well-known whiskies, many of which are sold throughout the world. Today, you will visit the Glen Garioch Distillery in the sheltered heart of the Garioch Valley.
Blessed with the northeast's mild climate, plentiful sunshine, and just the right amount of rain, Garioch has long been renowned as the finest barley-growing region in Scotland. Given that the only ingredients in Scotch whisky are barley, water and yeast, this distinction is quite important.
Glen Garioch was once home to no fewer than six distilleries; today, only one remains and that this the one that bears its name. A highlight of your visit will be tasting three drams of Glen Garioch whisky.
