Departing from the Four Seasons Hotel, travel through Sydney on a panoramic drive to take in Hyde Park, the Domain, and the Botanical Gardens.
You'll pass through Kings Cross — Sydney's red-light district — and Rushcutters Bay, home of the Royal Cruising Yacht Club.
Watch for the affluent communities of Double Bay and Rose Bay, pausing to take photos at Mrs Macquarie's Chair. This vantage point lies directly east of the Opera House, on the eastern edge of the Royal Botanic Gardens and provides excellent views across the harbor to the Harbour Bridge and the mountains in the distance. From here you will also see Kirribilli House, Pinchgut Island, and the Navy Dockyards at Woolloomooloo.
Afterward, head to Bondi Beach — one of Sydney's most eclectic precincts and the most celebrated beach in the country.
Returning to the city, you will see The Rocks — Sydney's birthplace and historic Old Town area. The Rocks was established shortly after the colony's formation in 1788 and its name derives from the sandstone used for most of its buildings. Now a popular tourist attraction, The Rocks features galleries, shops and pubs. In fact, most of the Rocks' drinking establishments claim to be the oldest pub in Sydney.
Your tour concludes at the pier, where you will board the ship.
Notes:
This tour is available only to guests whose cruise begins in Sydney. The tour departs from the Holland America Line's pre-cruise hotel — the Four Seasons Sydney. Guests not staying at the Four Seasons Sydney must make their own way to the hotel and arrive, with their luggage, at least 30 minutes prior to the departure time. Tour sequence may vary.
