Dunedin's scenic beauty and architectural splendor are yours to discover during a panoramic motorcoach introduction to the city, whose name derives from the Gaelic for "Edinburgh." Founded by Scottish settlers in 1848, this charming city features a wealth of Victorian and Edwardian buildings, richly festooned with spires, gables and gargoyles.
Depart the pier and enjoy a 10-mile drive along the eastern shoreline of Otago Harbor. Enjoy spectacular views across Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula.
As you pass through the city, watch for highlights such as the Botanic Gardens, the Otago Museum, and the magnificent Dunedin Railway Station.
In the city center, at the Octagon, admire St Paul's Cathedral and the Dunedin Town Hall before returning to Port Chalmers.
Notes:
Tour consists mainly of sightseeing from the transportation with no inside visits. Participants must be able to climb a few steps unassisted to board the transportation. Stops are brief, and participants can remain in the vehicle. Tour sequence may vary.
