Put a little sizzle in your day with this jet boat outing on one of New Zealand's most challenging and exciting rivers.
From the port of Lyttelton, journey via coach across the fertile Canterbury Plains to the spectacular Waimakariri River — a journey of approximately 45 minutes each way. Along the way, enjoy commentary that brings the local landscapes and culture to life.
The Waimakariri is one of Canterbury's famous braided river systems. Braided rivers, by definition, are those with a very wide riverbed where the water criss-crosses its way downstream. Only a small percentage of the world's river systems are braided, and the jet boat was specifically invented for navigating these types of rivers.
After gearing up with a life jacket, step and aboard a specially designed Hamilton jet boat, for a thrilling 20-minute ride deep into the heart of this extraordinary river. Glide across water, at times only inches deep, with exhilarating spins and fishtails take make jet boating a uniquely Kiwi thrill.
Following your unforgettable ride, reboard your coach and enjoy a scenic return journey to port of Lyttelton
