Step into the heart of Portugal’s mystical heritage on a captivating journey through Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its romantic landscapes and esoteric architecture. This immersive walking tour explores the enigmatic Quinta da Regaleira, where myth, symbolism, and spiritual imagination converge.
Begin with a scenic transfer to Sintra, a town long favored by poets, royals, and visionaries. At Quinta da Regaleira, descend into the Initiation Well — a 27-meter spiral staircase inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy and linked to Masonic rituals and alchemical transformation. Wander through hidden tunnels and emerge into gardens filled with towers, grottoes, and fountains that reflect Portugal’s rich tapestry of Christian, pagan, and mythological influences.
Your guide will reveal the stories behind architecture and symbolism, from the Knights Templar to 19th-century Romanticism. Along the way, enjoy cultural touches like tasting Sintra’s beloved travesseiro pastry and sipping Portuguese coffee in the historic town center. This tour offers more than sightseeing — it’s a journey into the soul of Portugal, where every stone tells a story and every path leads deeper into mystery.
Notes:
Due to the new traffic restrictions in Sintra, an official municipal shuttle transfer is now required between the drop-off point and the historic center, adding approximately 30 minutes each way to the transfer time. This also increases the overall walking required during the tour. Please note that this shuttle service is operated by the local authorities and is outside our control. While we will do everything possible to ensure a smooth operation, waiting times for the shuttle may vary depending on demand. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
