The waterfalls of Rio de Damajagua may well be the Dominican Republic's best-kept secret. To discover them, you'll head deep into the natural wonder of Damajagua National Park with a 40-minute hike through its beautiful landscape.
Starting at one of the breathtaking upper falls, cool down by sliding into the fresh, sparkling pool of mountain water below the cascade. Each of the waterfalls and pools has its own personality, and you'll find yourself celebrating with every waterfall you conquer. From there, your thrilling adventure has you hiking through breathtaking scenery as you make your way down the river, swimming through caverns, navigating rushing river canyons, and sliding along and down natural rock waterslides. This is the experience of a lifetime -- a thrill that has to be undertaken to be believed.
After working up quite an appetite, you will thoroughly enjoy a delicious Dominican lunch .
Notes:
This experience includes use of water shoes and lockers. Minimum age is 8 years. A life jacket and helmet are provided and must be worn. Wear your swimsuit; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat. Photography and video are not allowed. Wear closed-toe water shoes (mandatory). Water shoes are availble for rent. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. Lockers are available for rent for USD $10.95.
