On a panoramic drive through Old City, you will view some of the highlights of Philadelphia. Watch for famous landmarks such as the grave of Benjamin Franklin (oddly, it lies streetside for all to see) and the home of Betsy Ross -- the 18th-century upholsterer who made the first official flag of the United States.
Charming Elfreth's Alley is decorated with sweet colonial architecture, like a string of pearls. It is the oldest continuously inhabited residential street in Philadelphia.
Leave the coach to visit Independence Hall, where Independence from the British Empire was declared and, later, the Founding Fathers wrote the US Constitution.
Head across the street to view the Liberty Bell, a sacred symbol of American freedom. Its true backstory is fascinating and powerful, and your expert guide will help you distinguish fact from fiction.
Once back on the coach, explore vibrant neighborhoods such as Chinatown and the downtown core, full of life, art, and spectacular architecture. Marvel at Philly’s massive and impressive City Hall and catch a glimpse of the famous LOVE statue in this, the City of Brotherly Love.
Your personal triumph today is scaling the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art made famous in the eponymous movie series starring Sylvester Stallone. Take in the view and grab a selfie at the Rocky Statue before heading back to the pier. Yo!
Notes:
Tour sequence may vary. Tour requires minimal walking. Admission to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are included; timing and congestion may limit access to either or both attractions. Restrooms are available in the Old City. All sites visited are accessible, including the Rocky Steps. Expect long lines at the Rocky statue; a photo may not be possible. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
