At the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary, you'll have free time to wander through the Australian bushland. The zookeepers will tell you about the platypus, parrots, kangaroos, wombats and koalas. More than 200 native bird, mammal and reptile species live at Healesville.
Continue to the Yarra Valley wine district, where the varieties grown include Shiraz, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Visit a local winery for a wine tasting and enjoy lunch in the restaurant. Rochford Winery prides itself on the production of premium-quality wines that express the true character of the terroir. Sample award-winning wines at the cellar door (tasting room), appreciate the landscape from the observation tower or stroll through the grounds. You will get the opportunity to taste some more wine at another local winery that helps showcase what the region has to offer.
