This day safari is a photo-centric adventure suitable for the casual camera operator and the avid photographer alike. In fact, you need not be a photographer at all to join the fun. A small group size ensures an intimate setting, and the tour travels to the most scenic locations along the Cook Inlet coastline in and around Anchorage.
Transport by van to a total of four sites, where you make a short walk to a variety of photo opportunities from the Anchorage downtown skyline to natural environments.
Photo stops may include Point Woronzof, Lake Hood Float Plane Base, Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge, Potter Marsh bird sanctuary, McHugh Creek, and Glen Alps. The route is customized to the best the day has to offer, with flexibility to stop for wildlife sightings en route. Subjects may include numerous migratory bird species, moose, floatplanes taking off and landing, a picturesque mountain stream, alpine meadows, stunning mountains, and a scenic view from the Chugach Mountains looking out over the city and Cook Inlet.
Your day presents a snapshot of the best the Anchorage area offers and is guided by a professional Alaskan photographer who provides technical and creative support along the way.
Notes:
Bring your camera. Minimum age is 8 years. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations, as there may be a walk of up to a quarter mile on developed trails at some stops. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Anchorage/Seward.
