As Holland America Line prepares to celebrate 80 years exploring Alaska in 2027, work continues on the $70 million multi-year investment at Holland America Denali Lodge. The latest enhancements build on improvements already completed across the property, including renovated accommodations, refreshed public spaces and new dining experiences.
A Fresh Welcome to Denali
At the center of the latest work is a reimagined Main Lodge designed to reflect the warmth, scale and natural beauty of Alaska. Beginning with the 2027 season, guests will be welcomed into a refreshed lobby featuring soaring timber-frame ceilings, a river stone fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Main Lodge improvements will also include renovated public restrooms, a reimagined Basecamp Coffee café and expanded seating at Karstens Public House.
Beyond the Main Lodge, two new guest buildings will add 192 rooms, while an upgraded riverside trail will offer updated signage and new scenic viewpoints along the Nenana River. New menus developed with Culinary Ambassador Ethan Stowell will showcase ingredients and flavors inspired by Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
Lodge Furnishings Find a New Home in Alaska
As Holland America Denali Lodge makes way for these new spaces, furnishings being replaced as part of the project are getting a second life through a donation to the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska.
Furnishings from approximately 115 guest rooms were made available for donation, including bedframes, headboards, dressers, nightstands, chairs, lamps and other items. Approximately a dozen volunteers from the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska worked alongside the lodge maintenance team to gather these items.
The teams filled an entire 45-foot shipping container with furniture and other items for transport to Anchorage, where they will support the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska and the military families it serves.
The donation continues Holland America Line’s longstanding commitment to Alaska communities. During the 2026 season alone, Holland America contributed more than $320,000 to organizations and initiatives across Anchorage, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and the Denali Borough.
