Discover enchanting Pozos Azules -- an agri-tourism gem near Pan de Azúcar where nature, culture, and adventure blend seamlessly. Perfectly situated for easy access to breathtaking landscapes, this destination offers stunning views of the Sierras de las Ánimas.
Set out on a 1.5-hour trek through the beautiful Sierras de las Ánimas, making your way toward the legendary Blue Pools. Along the trail, you’ll encounter small waterfalls that form tranquil natural pools framed by native forest, creating a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. Please note that during this experience, the hike includes a visit to the first of the Blue Pools only.
At Pozos Azules, visit the Indigenous Museum to delve into the region’s cultural heritage. Gain a deeper appreciation of local history and traditions through fascinating exhibits. The Museum features a small collection of stone artifacts—including arrowheads, bolas, fishing hooks, and zooliths—originating from the region’s early Indigenous inhabitants.
The animal farm provides a delightful hands-on experience for all ages. Collect eggs, and feed the animals.
Cap off your visit with a typical Uruguayan barbecue featuring premium-quality meats grilled to perfection.
Notes:
Participants should be in good physical condition, as the hike will be adjusted according to each guest’s walking pace. Those who prefer a faster pace will have the opportunity to explore a longer section of the trail, while guests who prefer a slower, more moderate walk will follow a shorter route. Upon arrival at Estancia, a tractor-drawn cart will take everyone to the starting point of the trek. Sturdy, non-skid walking shoes are essential. Because shade is limited, we recommend wearing light, long clothing that can serve as a cover-up, along with a hat and sunglasses. Please bring biodegradable or reef-safe sunscreen and bottled water to stay comfortable throughout the experience. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Many animals in the area are migratory, and their movements vary, so encounters may differ from day to day. Additionally, the water levels at the blue pools depend on recent rainfall; during drier periods, water flow may be reduced.
