An hour-long panoramic drive explores Punta del Este. Passing through the upscale resort town lined with gorgeous beaches, you will stop at Punta Ballena for sweeping views up and down the coast.
At Casapueblo -- the home and atelier of internationally renowned artist Carlos Paez Vilaro -- view the outside of this dazzling white Moorish-style complex on a rocky bluff overlooking the ocean. Vilaro built it in 1958 with his own hands, using only traditional tools.
You will visit the Ralli Museum of Contemporary Art, with its fine collection of paintings and sculptures by noted Latin American artists, including several Salvador Dalí pieces on permanent display.
Your drive continues through the countryside to Narbona Farm.
A delicious Uruguayan lunch is served at Narbona Restaurant. It describes itself as a gastronomic experience that transcends the ordinary in a setting perfumed by sea air and open fields, providing natural and tasty freshness in Mediterranean countryside style. You will taste asado (barbecue) accompanied by delicious salads. As you enjoy your lunch, your guide will explain the production of dulce de leche -- a famous Uruguayan dessert. You’ll savor a taste of this specialty afterward.
Drive back to the pier via the La Barra de Maldonado and San Rafael districts.
