Embark on a captivating journey through Puntarenas, a city rich in history and coastal charm.
View the Casa de la Cultura — a historic building that once served as a Guardia Civil command and city jail before being transformed into a cultural hub in 1977 under the Ministry of Culture.
A short walk leads to the façade of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral — an architectural landmark with a distinctive stone façade and unique east-facing entrance.
Along the lively Paseo de los Turistas, you'll encounter the iconic El Faro de Puntarenas, the red-and-white-striped lighthouse that has guided sailors for decades. The bustling Central Market offers a glimpse into local daily life.
Visit Mora y Cañas Park, a peaceful green space that honors Costa Rican national heroes and is a favorite spot for locals to relax and gather.
Enjoy a panoramic drive through Puntarenas before heading into the countryside to El Jardín. Here, you'll explore beautiful butterfly gardens and enjoy a taste of Costa Rica with fresh tropical fruits, natural refreshments, and locally brewed coffee. You'll have free time to browse for local handicrafts before returning to port.
