The Reconstruction Museum highlights the resilience and determination of the people of Hammerfest as they rebuilt their town after World War II. Next, visit the Polar Bear Society, where you can learn about this unusual club. You have the option to join the society at an additional cost. The society also features a small exhibit showcasing Arctic animals.
Salen Viewpoint offers panoramic views of Hammerfest and its beautiful surroundings. Stop at the Meridian Column — a historic monument dedicated in 1856 to mark humankind's first endeavors to measure the Earth's size and shape — it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
