Sit back, relax and enjoy a journey along Gambian waterways in a locally built pirogue.
Travel up the main estuary to the River Gambia, taking in the tributaries as you sail. The invaluable experience of your captain will ensure the calmest waters possible. This scenic route will enable you to spot some of the many species of bird and river wildlife, whilst soaking up the calm and relaxing atmosphere. For keen bird spotters, binoculars and bird books are readily available. A buffet-style lunch will be served as you cruise. During the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to swim, fish or simply relax and soak up the sunshine!
Notes:
This tour involves very limited walking, however the pirogues, which are very basic, will need to be boarded from a jetty. The deck is only partly covered, therefore sun protection is highly recommended. Toilet facilities will be available onboard the pirogues, however these may be very basic.
