Explore the vibrant economic hub of Ivory Coast by beginning your journey in Abidjan! Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by an English-speaking guide at the port who will escort you to your coach. Embark on a tour of the local Arts & Crafts market, where you'll discover a range of unique souvenirs and practical items. Enjoy the diverse cultural offerings of this dynamic city as you venture forth on this exciting adventure.
We'll depart from the port and make our way to the market, where you'll be greeted by a vibrant array of stalls filled with handmade crafts, textiles, and other local goods. As we explore the market, you'll have the chance to shop for souvenirs and practice your haggling skills to get the best deals on unique items like carved wooden masks, traditional paintings, woven baskets, handmade jewerly, intricate beadwork, leather goods and beautiful fabrics. The locals here are known for their negotiating skills, so don't be afraid to put your own haggling abilities to the test!"
Once you've taken the time to peruse the market and make any necessary purchases, we'll make our way back to the port.
Notes:
Your guide will do his/her best to speak English, but please keep in mind that the limited tourism infrastructure here is part of the city's charm, and bear with any language difficulties he/she may encounter. Your guide will likely have a very strong Ivorian accent. Transportation is basic and falls well short of the standard you will find in many other ports. Guests are advised to wear casual clothing, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen, along with comfortable flat shoes. For safety purposes in this bustling city, it is advised to leave any valuable or flashy items on board the ship. In addition, caution should be taken in large public areas and guests should be aware of their surroundings.
