A Caribbean-style safari truck ride through picturesque landscapes leads to Maimon. At the only butterfly nursery on the north coast, discover the fascinating lifecycle of butterflies and explore a variety of native species.
Enjoy a 30-minute nature walk through the rainforest at Damajagua National Park -- a protected area along the Damajagua River. Your guide will show you some local trees and fruits along the way.
You'll discover a natural swimming pool at the last of a series of waterfalls on the Damajagua River. Swim in the cool river pool and enjoy the natural beauty of this National Park.
At an artisan market, browse among sculptures made from wood and stone or enjoy a hot chocolate or coffee (at your own expense). The souvenirs for sale are locally made, and your purchases directly assist the community.
La Huerta serves up a typical Dominican lunch called La Bandera (the Flag), based on many vegetables and spices grown on the property. Follow trails through the crops on this former sugarcane plantation previously owned by the Brugal Family. Taste Brugal Rum and see how the rum is made in the on-site museum.

Minimum age is 4 years. Closed-toe shoes are required. Guests who are pregnant or have a heart, knee, back, respiratory or neck condition, those who have had less than six months ago, or those taking medication that carries a warning of mental or physical impairment are not allowed to participate. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Helmets and life vests are provided and must be worn. Water shoes and lockers are available for rent with your onboard Sail & Sign card.
