Departing the city, the lighthouse route leads you to two outstanding south-coast villages. You will visit famed Peggy's Cove, with its glacial rock deposits and stunning lighthouse tableau that is the stuff of picture postcards. In the UNESCO World Heritage Site town of Lunenburg, simple Cape Cod architecture is celebrated in the antique downtown core, and brightly-painted stores and artisan workshops march in colorful profusion along the hillside on the bay.
Enjoy a traditional seafood lunch at a local restaurant.
Visit Acadian Maple, where the house specialty is locally curated treats ranging from pure Nova Scotia maple syrup to award-winning Glynnevan Canadian rye whiskies. While here, sample a traditional, delicious snack made with local blueberries.

Visitors are asked to stay off the rocks and away from the shoreline at Peggy's Cove. Terrain includes gravel pathways, paved areas, wooden decking, cement sidewalks, inclines, steps and rocky areas. Wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes. Bring a warm sweater; bring an umbrella and a rain jacket.
