Travel aboard a fast whale-watch catamaran out into the Gulf of Maine in search of large baleen cetaceans such as humpback, finback, and minke whales, as well as other fascinating marine life.
The ride out onto the open ocean is a great opportunity to keep an eye out for porpoises, dolphins, seals, sharks, ocean sunfish, and offshore seabirds. Professional guides and naturalists will educate you about any whales you might spot, as well as the natural and cultural history of the Gulf of Maine.
Notes:
Dress warmly in layers with a wind- and waterproof outer layer; bring gloves, a scarf and a warm hat. The boat may not be exclusive to Holland America guests. Pre-boarding is at Dock #1 and begins 30 minutes before departure. Tour duration varies from 3.5 to 5 hours, depending on the distance required to encounter whales. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
