Belgium

Belgium’s small stature belies its huge role in European history. Brussels, the country’s capital and EU headquarters, is an easy drive from Antwerp, the “City of Rubens”; medieval Ghent (waffles and chocolate, anyone?), Napoleon’s Waterloo, and the Nazi prison camp at Breendonk are all nearby, as well. Holland America Line also cruises to Zeebrugge to see Bruges’ UNESCO-designated Old Town and historic windmills, visit poignant WWI sites in Flanders Fields, and discover Belgium’s beer culture.
