Te Puia's Maori Arts & Crafts Institute offers a journey into the rich heritage, ancient skills, and culture of the Maori people.
Young people from across New Zealand are selected as apprentices to learn skills ranging from carving to weaving, creating flax skirts and embroidering patterned bodices.
Enjoy a delicious lunch and watch a lively Maori cultural performance, which includes the world-famous haka war dance and intricate hand games used to train young warriors.
