Here's a comprehensive sightseeing tour that stops at Auckland's major attractions while providing entertaining commentary in English. With a full-day bus pass, you can explore Auckland at your leisure by hopping on and off at stops along the route. The trip stops at a variety of Auckland landmarks, including the Auckland Museum, Sky City, Parnell Village, SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's, Downtown Auckland, and Newmarket.
The first Explorer Bus departs the pier with scheduled departure; the last bus returns to Downtown Auckland arriving at 5 pm.
Notes:
The Auckland Museum is currently undergoing phased renovation work. Most galleries are open, but there may be a couple of closures during your visit. Admission to attractions along the route is not included. Bring local currency or credit cards, as most vendors do not accept US dollars. Wear comfortable walking shoes. This is a hop-on, hop-off service and is not exclusive to Holland America Line guests; the tour is open to the general public. The tour is unguided; you are merely purchasing a ticket for the bus service. You must exchange your voucher for a hop-on, hop-off ticket with the bus driver upon boarding the first bus. A clean headset is issued to you at the beginning of your tour, and you will keep it for the duration. Expect traffic delays and possible wait times at the stops associated with the service. It is your responsibility to return to the ship before all-aboard time. Entrance fees to attractions along the route are not included. Due to the nature of this tour, there will be no refunds. Participants must negotiate at least one step to board the bus. Where/if applicable, participants must climb steps to reach the bus' upper level. Tour duration varies based on your choice of stops and time spent at each. Tour sequence may vary. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extreme weather or unsuitable conditions. Multi-port packages and discounts for students and seniors are not available on board the ship. Walking is at your discretion.
