Set out for an afternoon at the Kowloon Markets, where truth is stranger than fiction.
You will begin with a visit to the Avenue of Stars -- a scenic waterfront promenade in Tsim Sha Tsui celebrating Hong Kong’s film industry. Visitors enjoy handprints of movie legends, a Bruce Lee statue, and panoramic views of Victoria Harbour.
Afterwards drive to the Jade Market in Yau Ma Tei -- a vibrant bazaar specializing in jade jewelry, carvings, and trinkets. Bargaining-friendly stalls offer various jade qualities amid local street food and cultural atmosphere.
Next, transfer to the Flower Market -- easily one of Hong Kong's most colorful street markets. This is a jungle of exotic blossoms, luck-bringing houseplants, and sweet scents found in more than 50 shops. It's fun to walk through the market admiring the huge variety of flowers and plants for sale -- some are old favorites, but others will leave you stymied.
Your final stop is at the Ladies Market, whose focus is difficult to pin down, as it seems virtually every imaginable consumer good can be purchased here.
