Originally named Bone Key for its grisly Native history, Key West is now a lush, tropical and densely-populated island. Discover the charm and grace of some of America's architectural treasures. As the tour meanders through the Old Town with its blend of tropical plants and flowers, see the historic seaport, the southernmost point of the continental USA, the cigar makers' shotgun houses, wreckers' mansions and pretty churches -- all part of the island's tapestry. Delve into the golden age of settlement through the exciting days of the railroad, the Great Depression, World War II, the Kennedy era and the Cuban Missile Crisis to the present.
