As Holland America Line prepares to celebrate 80 years of exploring Alaska in 2027, the cruise line is unveiling Alaska Heritage Tours, a collection of iconic experiences that connect today’s guests with the earliest days of Holland America in the Great Land. Select tours trace their roots back 80 years, giving guests the opportunity to experience many of the same places and traditions travelers did generations ago. While the experiences have been thoughtfully modernized over the decades to reflect evolving guest interests and expectations, they remain true to their heritage, offering an authentic connection to Alaska’s history, culture and communities.

Holland America Line is introducing Bar 1873, a new signature gathering place where contemporary design, cocktails and live music bring more than 150 years of the cruise line’s history to life. Debuting aboard Oosterdam as part of the ship’s Holland America Evolution transformation, the two-story atrium venue will feature a soaring illuminated tulip sculpture, curated heritage displays and comfortable lounges designed for cocktails, conversation and intimate entertainment.

Holland America Line has opened bookings for five newly added voyages aboard Oosterdam following the ship’s transformation through Holland America Evolution, the cruise line’s largest fleet investment in its 153-year history. The new cruises give guests additional opportunities to experience the reimagined ship beginning Oct. 31, 2027.

Holland America Line announced that it will expand its fleet to 12 ships with the addition of the Vista Class vessel Arcadia in 2029. P&O Cruises will transfer the ship to Holland America Line, strengthening the premium cruise line's capacity, supporting continued demand growth and providing another platform for the ongoing Holland America Evolution transformation program.

As Holland America’s 2026 Alaska season ends, the cruise line is looking ahead to next summer’s milestone season celebrating 80 years of exploring the Great Land. For eight decades, Holland America has built a depth of knowledge in Alaska, helping shape an experience that brings the destination to life both on board and ashore. That expertise gives guests more ways to see Alaska’s wildlife and witness its glaciers than any other cruise line, from immersive wilderness exploration to signature glacier-viewing.

Holland America Line opened bookings for its 2028 Canada & New England season. Featuring more calls to Montréal than any other cruise line, the season gives guests the opportunity to explore the region’s coastal communities, natural wonders and maritime heritage aboard carefully crafted voyages throughout Atlantic Canada and New England.

Holland America Line, the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour and Major League Pickleball (MLP) announced the first “Private Island Invitational” will take place on the cruise line’s private island during a Caribbean voyage departing March 7, 2027. The event comes as Holland America Line celebrates the 30th anniversary of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, marking three decades of memorable experiences on the award-winning private island. 

Holland America Line is preparing to mark the 30th anniversary of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay — the cruise line’s private Bahamian island — with a sweet new partnership that welcomes Magnolia Bakery’s iconic Banana Pudding on board. Guests sailing on Holland America Caribbean cruises during the 2026-27 season will be able to indulge in the bakery’s Banana Pudding, bringing a beloved dessert to a region where bananas are deeply woven into the culinary culture.
