Puffing Billy — Australia's oldest operating steam railway and only surviving narrow gauge locomotive — winds its way for eight miles (13 km) over wooden trestle bridges, through fern gullies, and past tall eucalyptus forest in a spectacular showcase of Australia's flora and fauna.
Notes:
Please wear comfortable shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Participants must be able to climb a few steps unassisted to board the transportation. The Puffing Billy train ride duration is approximately one hour. Puffing Billy is primarily operated by steam locomotives; however, for safety and operational reasons, a diesel engine may be substituted at any time. On days of Total Fire Ban, the train will be operated by a diesel engine.
