This half-day excursion brings you to the picturesque castle town of Inuyama — part of the Hida-Kiso Quasi-National Park. The town is noted for its historical sites and breathtaking beauty.
Visit picturesque Inuyama Castle. Built in 1537, the castle remains intact and holds a National Treasure designation. It is Japan's oldest fortress and is a repository of Samurai armor, beautiful folding screens, and impressive documents from the town's past.
Stroll through the open-air village of the Meiji Mura Museum. The Meiji period (1868-1912) was an era of restoration and brought innovative change to Japan, including Western architecture. More than 60 structures have been relocated from across Japan and placed on this beautiful 247-acre site.
Notes:
Participants must be able to climb the staircase at Inuyama Castle; there is no elevator available. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. You must remove your shoes at one or more location(s). Wear comfortable walking shoes. Unfamiliar accents can be challenging; feel free to ask your guide to repeat or elaborate on information, and to speak more slowly so you can fully comprehend and converse.
