Embark on a captivating full-day adventure through Patagonia’s stunning wilderness and vibrant coastal culture.
Your experience begins as you depart Ushuaia and travel along National Route 3 by 4WD vehicle, journeying through lush native forest and scenic gravel roads. After approximately an hour, you’ll arrive at Laguna Victoria, an ancient and tranquil site where you'll enjoy a light snack surrounded by breathtaking nature.
Next, continue to a panoramic viewpoint near the iconic Flag Tree for a brief photo stop—capturing sweeping vistas of this wild, remote landscape.
As the route winds further south, you’ll arrive in the charming fishing village of Puerto Almanza, Argentina’s southernmost fishing port, nestled along the picturesque Beagle Channel. Here, you'll explore the village’s scenic waterfront and learn about local crab and shellfish harvesting traditions.
Your visit culminates with a special cooking masterclass at a local fisherman’s restaurant. Learn how to prepare centolla (spider crab) before sitting down to enjoy a freshly prepared lunch featuring regional flavors—all while gazing out over the serene waters of the Channel.
Notes:
Travel time to Puerto Almanza is approximately 1.75 hours each way; more than half of this time is spent driving on gravel roads. Minimum age is 15 years. Tour operates rain or shine but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Ushuaia’s weather is unpredictable; conditions can change suddenly partway through the tour. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. There is no crab fishing on this tour.
