Alebrijes are among the most vibrant expressions of Mexican folk art — fantastical, surreal creatures born of dreams and brought to life by skilled local artisans. This beloved Mexican tradition is celebrated for its color, creativity, and cultural meaning.
Today, you'll have the opportunity to paint and decorate your own alebrije under the guidance of a master artisan. Step by step, you'll bring your creation to life, resulting in a singular piece to take home as the perfect souvenir.
You'll also have the chance to explore the workshop, where masterpieces and works-in-progress are displayed. This inspiring space functions as a living workshop, art gallery, and cultural museum all in one, offering a deeper appreciation of the craftsmanship behind each piece.
At the end of your visit, enjoy some free time to explore downtown La Crucecita before returning to the pier.
Notes: Minimum age is 4 years. Prior experience not required; alebrije beginners are welcome.
