Take a lovely ride along Acapulco Bay and Puerto Marques as you head south of the city along the coast to Tres Palos Lagoon. Catch a glimpse of Acapulco's highlights, fantastic views of the bays, and the hotel and residential zones.
From Tres Palos, board a motorboat to explore the lagoon. Many tropical bird species call this sanctuary home. You will also see mangrove tunnels, limpid lagoons, a natural garden of wildflowers, and a tropical nature reserve.
Return to Acapulco and head inland, traveling up into the cool hills surrounding the bay. Visit the Botanical Garden for a walk among striking tropical flora. The vegetation here is typical of a lowland deciduous jungle. It contains a great variety of hardwood trees, including the critically endangered Palo Morado, and an unusual variety of cacti, palms, and fruit trees.
Notes:
The motorboat ride on the lagoon is non-guided. There is one guide for every two boats. The guides will move between the boats at times. Shared binoculars are on loan; feel free to bring your own. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Minimum age is 8 years.
