Board a prepaid water taxi for the very scenic 20-minute boat ride to Isla la Roqueta. Meet your guide, an expert in the region's flora and fauna, for a briefing on the beach.
Then, you will set off on a three-mile hike to the highest point on the island -- a vertical ascent to some 450 feet above sea level. Along the way, try to spot the many plant and animal species indigenous to this isolated pocket of tropical jungle.
At the lighthouse on the summit, take in the silence and the thrilling view of Acapulco, the cliffs, and the vast Pacific Ocean.
Descend back to sea level for a short boat ride to an oceanside terrace restaurant where you will have time for relaxing and a refreshing swim in the ocean or simply enjoying the view of Acapulco Bay.
A water taxi returns you to the ship.
Notes:
Minimum age is 12 years. Participants must be physically fit and capable of sustained uphill walking. Tour requires approximately three miles of hiking. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, gravel, grass, rocks and many steps. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed and to carry your water (supplied). Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
