This tour is designed for guests who prefer to see the sights from the comfort of the motorcoach with minimal walking required.
Enjoy a two-hour introduction to Ålesund — a glimpse of ancient and modern history. A narrative panoramic drive takes you past some of the very impressive Art Nouveau buildings dating from the turn of the 20th century and some of its more picturesque vistas.
In 1904, the city center was destroyed by a catastrophic fire. Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm led the relief effort, and the city was rebuilt in the German Art Nouveau style known as Jugendstil.
Notice the elaborate turrets and spires and Ålesund Church, built in 1909, with a façade finished in natural stone.
