A 90-minute coach ride brings you to the center of Rome — the Eternal City. Join your English-speaking guide for a walking tour past some ancient monuments.
You will visit Mamertine Prison, Rome's oldest prison, located where Rome's enemies, domestic and foreign, were incarcerated. Many entered; none left. St Peter, St Paul, and other Christian martyrs lived out their last days here.
Next up, visit the Roman Forum. This was Rome's ancient marketplace and the center of political activity. Wander among the ruins. Across the street, you will find the Roman world's most famous amphitheater — the Colosseum. View this iconic building from the outside.
At the end of your guided tour, enjoy free time to explore on your own and to purchase lunch (at your own expense).
At the appointed time, return to the motorcoach for the transfer back to Civitavecchia.
Notes:
Tour sequence may vary. Lunch is not included. You will have time to purchase lunch at your own expense during the tour. Tour requires a great deal of walking and long periods of standing.
