Trace a route across the Tabernas Desert by 4x4 vehicle. This is a fascinating landscape and, along the way, your guide will stop to interpret the geological, historical and environmental aspects of this unusual place. It's an adventure through a Western movie-like landscape, where nature and geology are the main characters.
In two hours you will cover about 14 miles -- the stops are plentiful and fun.
Visit an olive oil press museum and an olive mill where you will taste oils made from different olive varietals. Your guide will talk about the characteristics of each type, and about the sustainable methods used in the production of organic extra olive oil from the Tabernas Desert.
Notes:
This is not a self-drive tour; all 4x4 vehicles are driven by a driver-guide. The olive oil museum is closed on Sundays. Not advisable for guests with back problem or for pregnant women. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Tour involves negotiating rough terrain, inclined surfaces and gravel. Wear comfortable walking shoes; bring water and sunscreen.
