The Wailua River is known for its tropical beauty. Embarking a riverboat, you'll enjoy a narrated cruise up the peaceful river.
Take a short walk to the observation area to view the Fern Grotto, which forms a natural amphitheater with excellent acoustics, providing a setting for the small Hawaiian musicians group that will serenade you. Brilliant green ferns hang from the dripping ceiling.
Cruise back downriver and reboard your coach.
You'll visit Opaeka'a Falls (meaning 'rolling shrimp') — a 151-foot waterfall that has featured in several movies.
Notes:
Wear comfortable non-skid walking shoes. Participants must be able to climb a few steps to board the boat independently. The boat is not wheelchair accessible. Bring insect repellent.
