Your adventure begins as you board a 4x4 vehicle and head out across São Vicente Island.
Pass through the agricultural valley and stop for photos at a great vantage point, offering panoramic views of the surrounding uninhabited islands of Santa Luzia, Raso, and Branco (weather permitting).
The island is encircled by turquoise waters and long stretches of both black- and white-sand beaches, dotted with natural caves, along the coast.
At the fishing village of Calhau, you will see the colorful wooden sailing boats and feel the true essence of this mostly untouched country. From here, it's a short drive back to the ship.
Notes:
Tourism infrastructure is limited in Cape Verde; vehicles do not have air-conditioning or PA systems. Ride will be bumpy; guests who are pregnant and those with a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Vehicle occupancy is three guests per vehicle.
