See the city of East London and the coastline from two different perspectives--on land during a sightseeing tour of the city and by water from the seat of a two-person kayak.
Depart the pier for a short orientation tour of East London, traveling through the 183-year-old city whose stately colonial buildings and German street signs reflect the city's heritage on your way to the Nahoon River.
Upon arrival at the riverbank, receive a safety briefing, then gear up and board your two-person kayak and set off on a two-hour kayak adventure that will cover one to three miles.
Keep your camera handy, the river is a tidal estuary filled with abundant birdlife such as kingfishers, cormorants, a large nesting colony of herons, woolly necked storks, and the African sacred ibis. The river is also home to otters, sea lions and the endangered Eastern Province rocky, a species of fish found only in South Africa.
Following your kayak adventure, return your gear and return to the pier.
Notes:
Fluid kayaks will be used during your adventure, which can seat 2 people with a maximum carrying capacity of 485lbs. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing as you may get wet; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, a cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Tour sequence may vary. This tour operates weather permitting and might be cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
