Travel from Nordfjordeid approximately one hour to Hjortegarden (Red Deer) Farm in Ålfoten, with a 15-minute ferry ride en route.
Farm owners Sonja and Karl Vidar welcome you to their property, where nature, traditional foods, hunting, and a love of animals are the driving factors. Listen to the story of the farm, feed the gorgeous deer, and enjoy a snack of local pastries. Majestic red deer are the true owners of the woods surrounding the farm. Their kingdom extends all the way down from the bay, along the rivers, through the forests and canyons, and all the way to the vast Ålfotbreen Glacier.
The farm is surrounded by a nature reserve — you can't get any closer to the great outdoors than this!
Ride the ferry again on the journey back to the ship in Nordfjordeid.
