Suncheon City is quickly emerging as the ecological capital of Korea. On this walking tour, you'll see the natural ecosystem that is Suncheon Bay, globally recognized for its ecological value.
Transfer to Suncheon Bay National Garden, established as a conservation area that is now home to 505 tree species and 113 flower species. Stands of tulips and royal azaleas are particularly noteworthy. A nearby field of canola flowers (in full bloom in May) creates a beautiful yellow wave of color. Explore the many gardens, each themed around a different country from around the world.
Take the Skycube Cable Car — Korea's first personal rapid transit. Its privileged passengers glide in a cozy, eco-friendly pod above Yeosu's picturesque natural world.
Suncheonman Wetland is one of the world's top five coastal wetlands, stretching more than a mile along the river with mudflats and reed beds. The reed colonies serve as wintering and breeding grounds for various birds, including hooded cranes. The tidal flats are home to a diverse array of species, including mudskippers and East Asian seepweed. Wait for the spectacular sunset over the S-shaped waterway of Suncheonman Bay, when flocks of birds rise from the reed beds.
