The Kasama Inari Shrine is one of the three largest shrines in Japan. Built in 651, it is dedicated to the spirit in charge of grains and foodstuffs -- its blessing is said to bring a good harvest. The shrine draws more than 3.5 million pilgrims every year.
You'll have some free time to stroll along the street outside the shrine and browse at the little food and souvenir shops.
Visit the Sudo Honke Japanese Sake Brewery. As the oldest brewery in Japan, they have been perfecting the art of sake brewing for 870 years. Hear the master of the brewery talk about their passion and precision in making sake and sample a few types of sake over lunch .
Notes:
Entry to the shrine museum is not included. You must remove your shoes at the lunch venue. The lunch menu is a Japanese set menu; no substitutions can be made (not suitable for vegetarian or vegan guests). Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Traffic can be unpredictable. The driver will do his/her best to keep moving safely. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Delays occasionally extend tour duration.
