Terms & Conditions
*Holland America Line (“HAL”) is offering guests the ability to sign up to be on standby to cruise on eligible and select cruises (the “Program”). The Program is available to guests 21 years of age or older and is intended for those residing within driving distance from the port of Rotterdam, Amsterdam or IJmuiden. These special conditions of the standby program apply in addition to our general booking conditions. To the extent these special conditions differ from the general booking conditions, the special conditions of the standby program take precedence. Once you register on the list for the standby program for a cruise, you must pay the full (reduced) fare of €69 per day (for the 1st and 2nd guest per stateroom) or €139 per day for single occupancy of an inside or outside stateroom category and €99 per day (for the 1st and 2nd guest per stateroom) or €198 per day for single occupancy a balcony stateroom category (Verandah). The reduced rate of €69/138 or €99/198 per day includes taxes, fees and port expenses. Guests shall have no ability to select or request a certain room type on the cruise. If guest chose to be removed from the list, it counts as a cancellation as referred to in Article 4 of the general booking conditions, for which a cancellation fee will be charged depending on when the cruise would start. When the chosen standby cruise is cleared, and guests nevertheless indicate that they do not wish to take it, the same applies, which will mean that payment will not be refunded (regardless of whether or not you show up for the cruise). If the guest does not clear standby, they will automatically be refunded the full amount of the cruise fare that they were charged at the time they were placed on the standby list. Guests wanting the ability to remove themselves/not be charged for the cruise if they elect not to sail should instead opt to go on a cruise waitlist (and pay at prevailing rates). Program is subject to availability and available only in connection with new bookings on participating Holland America Line cruises. The Program and/or its terms may be modified or withdrawn at any time without prior notice. Payment is not a guarantee or promise that cruise will have space/availability for guest; guest will only be cleared for standby to cruise when/if the guest receives official confirmation from Holland America Line approximately 7 days before cruise’s departure. Holland America Line is neither responsible nor liable for any offer errors, including printing or advertising errors. Other restrictions and exclusions may apply. This Program is not combinable with other offers or promotions.
