Step into the world of Sig Hansen, the renowned star of the documentary television series Deadliest Catch, during a visit to his island of Mortholmen. The historic coastal venue is home to a defunct herring processing plant that is more than 100 years old. Today, it is the only remaining herring processing plant in the area, preserving a significant piece of Norway's fishing heritage. You'll cross to Mortholmen by way of a scenic motorcoach drive.
Feel the maritime legacy on a guided tour of the site and discover the fascinating history of the building, which played a pivotal role in Norway's herring industry. Although Sig Hansen will not be present during the tour, your guide will enlighten you with tales of his family connection to the island.
Your visit includes a tasting of freshly caught seafood delicacies straight from the surrounding waters, allowing you to savor the authentic flavors of Norway.
