Sete Cidades, the seven cities region, is dominated by an impressive five-mile-wide caldera. Within the craters lie two volcanic lakes -- one green and the other blue. See the lakes from the highest point and at close quarters.
The village of Sete Cidades is surrounded by forest-covered walls at the edge of the blue lake. Enjoy the scenic beauty and some free time in one of the oldest villages of the Azores.
On the way back to Ponta Delgada, you will also see Santiago Lake, with its own unique style. From a hotel in Ponta Delgada, enjoy the view of the city’s port and marina while savoring a small tasting of Azorean & Portuguese wines and cheeses.
