Hop into a 4x4 vehicle at the pier, and you're off to explore the secret corners of Madeira. This is the ideal way to discover the natural terrain, both on- and off-road, including hidden valleys and mountains of volcanic origin that cannot be reached by motorcoach.
Bring your spirit of adventure, and you will encounter local characters when you stop off-road at a local rural pub for a rest and refreshments .
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a jacket, as temperatures at higher elevations can be cooler. The six-seater 4x4 vehicle is driven by your driver/guide in caravan formation. Ride will be bumpy; guests who are pregnant and those with a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered regarding visibility or views on any day.
