Depart from Lerwick, the capital of Shetland, and head to Burra, one of the smaller Shetland islands, Burra is connected to the Mainland by a series of bridges spanning the island of Trondra.
Pause for photos en route at Meal Beach — one of the most beautiful beaches in Shetland. The beach is approximately 300 yards away, accessible via a boardwalk.
Upon arrival at The Shetland Pony Experience, meet the friendly owners and separate into smaller groups. This is your chance to pet, brush and handle the ponies.
After a close-up encounter with the adorable foals, lead one of the ponies a few hundred yards down to a beautiful beach — a chance to take photos with these beautiful animals — a positively authentic and fun Shetland experience to savor.
