Enjoy splendid views over Harstad and its surrounding areas on this hike to Mount Keipen — one of the favorite hiking trails among the locals.
Your tour begins with a transfer from the pier to Mount Aune, northwest of Harstad, where your trek will start. Mount Aune is one of the many natural treasures here, featuring a scattered forest, small mountain lakes, marshland, stones, fields, and bushes.
Leave your transportation for a hike that follows the trail for approximately 1½ miles to Mount Keipen.
At the top, enjoy a cup of hot coffee and a snack of lefse (Norwegian soft flatbread) with cured meat. Take in the spectacular views and scenery below before your guide leads you back down the mountain for your transfer back to the pier.
Notes:
Tour requires extensive walking and hiking, approximately three miles round trip. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, steep inclines, gravel, and steps. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Participants must be in excellent physical condition. Wear sturdy hiking shoes; dress in layers. Children under the age of 3 must be secured in a child's car seat on the transportation. These are not available through the tour operator; you must bring your own from home.
