Pass the American War Memorial and the headquarters of the remaining British Naval forces in Gibraltar as you head towards Europa Point. Snap some photos of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Bay of Gibraltar, the Spanish mainland and, on a clear day, the African continent.
Head to the Upper Rock area to visit St Michael's Cave and the famous Barbary apes. Hang onto your sunglasses, bag, and hat — these primates think they look amazing wearing human accessories!
At St Michael's Cave, The Awakening technology installation highlights the cave's history and geological formation.
You will drive past the Moorish Castle and the Tower of Homage, which still bears the scars of battle, to enter the Upper Town area's narrow streets.
Guests wishing to stay in town for duty-free shopping or to explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Participants can use a mobility aid to reach the transportation; then, it will be stored in the cruise terminal until the tour returns to the ship. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, flagstones, inclines, gravel, and more than 75 steps to exit the cave.
