Board a local ferry to the spectacular island of Delos — the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. In the early 19th century, a dramatic excavation uncovered a wealth of beautiful artifacts, mosaics, statues, and buildings. Your two-hour walking tour explores the Agora of the Competialists, the Sacred Way, lined with marble platforms, the Sanctuary of Apollo, and the Lion District, named for the famous Terrace of the Lions. Do you hear the roar?
Returning to Mykonos by ferry, board a motorcoach for a scenic drive to charming Ano Mera village and the lovely Panagia Tourliani Monastery, originally built in 1542 and dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
Lunch with wine is served at a local venue.
A welcome respite in your day is a stop at Kalafatis Beach, where the deep blue Aegean Sea and golden sand beckon you for a short stroll in the sunshine. Refreshments are available for purchase from local vendors (at your own expense).
Walk through Mykonos' labyrinth-like streets, past white houses and red-roofed churches. This is one of the most cosmopolitan towns of the Aegean, but strict building regulations have kept its Cycladic architectural style beautifully intact.
Snap some photos in Little Venice, where narrow rows of brightly colored homes literally sit in the sea — a timeless subject for artists. Take photos of Paraportiani Church.
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
